Essex Fighting Arts Class - 30.06.2016

Great class again at www.essexfightingarts.co.uk this evening. Starting to drill in basic techniques again during the warm up. Getting your body working in harmony just adds to the biometric efficiency of your end technique. A punch, elbow, knee strike or kick has to transmit through a complete kinetic chain or in other words not just using the limb that's striking. Getting your feet planted yet able to dynamically move in order to produce an efficient strike is very important. Power = mass x acceleration. Bruce Lee's one inch punch is a classic example of biometrics...

Hope you enjoyed the arm drag work we did using the pads. It's nice to integrate technique made up of some trapping, striking and panantukan while hitting pads and executing throws or strikes ranging from overhead/uppercuts, Jab, Cross, Hook and back fists. Even had time to run through some knife feeding drills (pick up, stab, counter etc...) and zoning which is so important placing your body away from the blade and with enough distance to counter the next move. Strip for strip went well too and well done to everyone as that one can play trick with your mind when switching sides from left to right and visa versa...

Hope to get some of the old faces back very soon such as Nick, Vince, John etc... as numbers have been dropping which is never good for the club as the bills have to be paid...

Have a great weekend people and see you next week, Ouss...

    Welcome

Welcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
