Good class this evening at www.essexfightingarts.weebly.com No pads again today, but will get back into that next week. Going through different types of Dakup entries and take downs and as I said, trying to link everything together to make it seamless as you get into the lock at the end. We touched on some of the Dumog (groundwork) we will get into. Barry brought up a very good point and something I have said for years. The last place you want to be is on the floor in the street as their mates will be kicking you in the head. But as it is part of the Filipino arts so would like you to have those skills also as it makes it more of a complete jigsaw. But without a doubt, our striking skills come first every time. Better to damage them first before you apply any locks or attempt throws/take downs. See you all next week. Ouss...

Welcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
