Well I hope you all enjoyed that class as much as I enjoyed teaching it! :-) Nice hard work on the pads and welcome to Gary who was watching everyone work their socks off with my barking orders at them. :-D Then we went on to the Octopus series of groundwork. LOADS of pressure on the neck with all of the locks and as you could see, some are extremely dangerous to the point that it would only take a slight move to cause serious damage to the neck. Made me nervous when Ken lost his balance at one point. ha ha! Everyone should have nice flexible necks now though and see things directly behind them without much effort! ha ha! Added the last 'classic' neck lock that we used to use when I trained at The Chosho Academy and those that felt it know how painful it is when you get it right. Hope you had a great class and you can rest your necks now ;-) See you next week, Ouss...

Welcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
