Thanks to everyone that trained tonight at the new time of 21:15 was a relatively smooth transition I thought from the earlier time. :-) Well done to Stefen, Rob and David for being chucked in the deep end with the panantukan we did this evening. Working from Jab, Cross, Hook through Dakup, split entry gunting and then on to various conclusions such as bicep destructs, round elbows to the fist. But also with the intention of continuing the onslaught of strikes to the face. It does feel completely alien at first when you are starting to learn some of these techniques. And even things like split entries, guntings and dakup will take some getting used too. But you will and the skills will build until one day you'll be moving without too much thought process and will look back thinking "How did I find that difficult?" :-) Then you will move like a martial artist and flow like water, think I remember someone famous saying that once? ;-) The Salutation I taught you at the start is on the picture of Sifu Dan Inosanto, see you Thursday... Ouss...

Welcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
