Low numbers this evening at www.essexfightingarts.co.uk which was a shame. Will be good to have some of the old faces back in the mix soon and of course the rashguards should be with us soon too. :-) Was a good class though, we went through single arm neck clench drills avoiding the clench initially and various ways to break the grasp and return the clench. Then a full Muay Thai clench working the neck, breaking or manipulating your opponent to get inside their arms and turn the tables through various methods. Then we moved on to usage of 'the fence' in a potential conflict environment, pre-emptive palm strike to the jaw, carotid artery or ear for potential brain stem knock outs. Gaining control of the neck and arm with subsequent strikes such as elbows and palms again. Then on to face ripping controlling the head and covering/ disorientating your opponent while ripping them around by the face and head for multiple strikes. THEN on to shredding itself using quarter strikes, eye gauging, ear ripping (8lbs to tear an ear off), nerve pressure points and using walls, tables, the floor to bounce the head and face off of so brutal stuff!! :-D Hope everyone enjoyed the class and see you next week. Have a great and of course safe weekend. Ouss...

Welcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
