Awesome class this evening at Essex Fighting arts. Bit of an insight into what I will teach Thursday with combat clenchwork, the fence, head control, face ripping and finally shredding. But will give more of an idea Thursday as there's distance to get through, the difference between half beat and quarter beat strikes and the DO's & DON'T's with shredding. This evening had a short blast on the pads but good to get paired up with Rob Hickey to finely tune elbow strikes, stance and salutes. Did great! Good to get back to hubud also and as I said this evening there are so so many combinations to hubud covering so many strikes that we could only get through a few this evening. So 'one for one' with switches and bringing knee shots into play. 'Double Twos' with the added number 2 strikes on top of one for one. Punyo or backfists with switches which does play with your mind! :-D Then finally Siko/Siko or elbow hubud. Eventually as you will see you'll be able to switch between variations and become more free flow reacting to your opponents energy/movement and returning the strike. :-) Hope everyone enjoyed the class, the atmosphere was awesome as it always is. See you all Thursday, Ouss...

Welcome to the Essex Fighting Arts Blog. I always try to give an overview for each class with a re-cap of what was taught, terminology & ethos behind the techniques used. As well as any introductions, announcements or fun things that happened during the session. Enjoy! 😉
